On Anxiety

The maggots eat me away from the inside
And I feel dread.
I lay with darkness engulfing me:
No sound escapes,
No sound enters.

The maggots have eaten me half.
I am a speck of dust
Wrying for attention but
The Hollow weighs me down
Emptying me of gut.

The maggots have eaten me whole.
I lay numb now:
The voice calls for me,
No sound escapes
But my soul is relieved now,
As the maggots finally move on to
Another.
